¡Bienvenidos!

I’m Jennifer, a Canadian mommy living in Mexico with my Mexican husband Manuel and spunky Canexican daughter Isla…and if you haven’t guessed already “Canexican” is my made-up word as our daughter navigates this world as a perfect blend of being Mexican & Canadian learning both English & Spanish. Manuel & I run our own destination wedding photography business together which has allowed us to have a wonderfully flexible & fun work to life balance and has given us incredible inside knowledge to the many amazing resorts & things to do here throughout the entire Yucatan Peninsula from Cancun & the Mayan Riviera over to Mérida & Progreso in Yucatan state.

Something many don’t know about me is that I have always worked in communication arts and studied Journalism in college. I have worked on community newspapers as a writer/photographer & in television as a host/reporter/producer/camera operator for various platforms such as daily news and magazine shows. I have been excited to jump back into writing for my personal blog as I share a glimpse into what life is like here in Mexico. My pieces tend to reflect my own interests which include actively exploring the beautiful surrounding areas (including Quintana Roo & Yucatan states) with my little family, travel tips with recommendations for what to see & do, how we are working on raising a fully bilingual citizen of the world, health & nutrition, a focus on local produce and just in general what life is really like for expats living in Mexico.

Our little Isla loves adventures of all kinds both near & far by plane, train, car, boat, golf cart rides around islands, hiking across beach rocks…you name it! We soak up every ounce of awesomeness the Yucatan Peninsula has to offer and love sharing the places we visit and the things we see & do. It’s such a gorgeous area of Mexico and we are proud to call it home!

Gracias for joining us on our adventures here in Mexico & beyond!
